Description: The refurbishment of the former R.I.C. Barracks at Davis Street for the Private Security Authority is part of the Government's Decentralisation Programme to provide accommodation for 42 staff in Tipperary town. The project was started on time and finished on schedule and handed over to the Clients (OPW) on the 21st May 2008. The building, which was constructed in 1876, is a protected structure. Having been home to the R.I.C., the building has been previously occupied by An Garda Siochana and the Department of Agriculture. The new Garda Station is open now.
